St. Dupont builds its pens on 135 years of expertise. Each piece is unique in that it has an identification number engraved on the clip. St. Dupont takes pride in the craftsmanship of their master goldsmiths and lacquerers who skillfully craft each pen with hand-finished lacquer. Each pen is a unique piece of art with hours of skill and craftsmanship put into the creation of it. The lacquer used on S.T. Dupont pens comes from the sap of the Rhus Vernicifera, also known as the 'Lacquer Tree' which is hand collected and distilled like fine wine. It is then applied to each pen layer by layer with careful attention to detail. The detail of the lacqueur in S.T. Dupont`s pens gives them a silky pearl-like feel.
S.T. Dupont pens are precision writing instruments. They are functional and technical, yet very personal. S.T. Dupont uses precious metals to craft their fine pens, including gold, palladium and platinum. S.T. Dupont pens are exceptionally fine and classic with refined and minimal lines.
The process for manufacturing a S.T. Dupont pen requires ten to twenty pieces and 200 quality control tests for just one pen. Each pen is hand checked and is an original piece. In the early 70`s S.T. Dupont created the first luxury ballpoint pen, called the 'Classique' which was made from solid silver. Book writing for everyone recommends these pens as a fashionable, pleasing writing tool.
The S.T. Dupont company is striving to position itself in today`s marketplace as a global lifestyle brand in luxury. The S.T. Dupont company is still based in Faverges, the Dupont`s family home at the base of the French Alps.
